The Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that the Reverend Cary Wilkins will join Faith Methodist Church as our interim pastor, beginning September 1.  Cary will be appointed by the Conference to serve Faith full-time for the next four months.

Before entering pastoral ministry, Cary spent 28 years with Shell Oil Company, retiring in 2010 from executive leadership to pursue his call to ordained ministry.  He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2013, along with undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University.

Cary began serving churches in part-time pastoral ministry while attending seminary and entered full-time ministry after graduation.  Most recently, he served for six years as Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Fulshear, Texas (now Union Chappel, GMC)

In 2022, Cary retired from full-time parish ministry and later that year received his certification in Transitional Intentional Interim Ministry from Perkins Theological Seminary. Since then, he has served five Global Methodist Church congregations, providing pastoral support and leadership to churches experiencing organizational and pastoral transitions.  He serves as a Senior Elder in the Trinity Conference of the Global Methodist Church.

Cary and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 44 years and enjoy travelling and gardening together.  They have three children and seven grandchildren and attend Cypress Methodist Church.  Cary likes working on their farm in East Texas, where he grows timber, manages wildlife, and is starting a beekeeping operation.
