At Faith Methodist Church, a Global Methodist Church in Richmond, Texas, we are dedicated to nurturing and guiding our youngest members in their spiritual journey. Our Children’s Ministry is a place where kids can discover, learn, and grow in their relationship with God while having a lot of fun along the way.
We envision a community where children experience God’s love, explore their faith, and develop a strong foundation for a lifelong walk with Christ. Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and caring mentors, we strive to create an environment that supports children’s spiritual, emotional, and social growth.

Volunteer Opportunities
We cannot do all that we do for our children without you! Thank you for all of your support and dedication in creating an environment where our kids are safe, grow spiritually, and have fun! All of our volunteers are safe sanctuary trained and background checked! We are continually seeking volunteers to help during our Midweek, Sunday School, and other activities and events!
FAQs
During the school year, we meet on Wednesdays at 6PM for our midweek program for elementary-aged kids in 3rd – 5th grade.
Snack supper is served each week consisting of a variety of options weekly, drink, and a dessert. Cost of the meal is $5 per person. Cash and checks are received each Wednesday night. If you would like to pay for the semester, click here. If you need to speak with us about the cost of the program, feel free to email us.

Safety and Security:
The safety of your children is our top priority. We have implemented strict safety protocols, including background checks for all our volunteers and a secure check-in/check-out process.

Midweek Schedule:
6:00 pm – Check in, snack supper, and open gym time
6:40 pm – Bible study
7:25 pm – Worship
7:45 pm – Carpool pickup*
*If you have kids in Jr. or Sr. High, we will keep your child with us until they dismiss.
Faith also offers summer sports camps hosted by Armored Sports. There are typically four camps available.
- Basketball: for ages 5-12
- Dodgeball: for ages 5-12
- Rookies: for ages 3.5-6
- After VBS: for ages 5-12

Our Sunday School classes are designed to be age-appropriate and engaging, helping children understand and apply the teachings of the Bible in their daily lives.
Nursery – 5 Years Old
Nursery care is available during Sunday services for children 2 months through 5 years old. We suggest arriving 10-15 minutes early to allow for parking, registering your children with our Children’s Ministry, and finding a seat for the worship service. Our nursery wing is located across from the chapel. All children must be checked in at one of our check-in stations located in the lobby of either the worship center or chapel.
Kinder – 5th Grade
Sunday school begins at 10AM for children kinder through 5th grade. Children will enjoy age-appropriate Bible lessons and activities that follow the Seedbed curriculum. All children must be checked in at one of our check-in stations located in the lobby of either the worship center or chapel.
- Kinder – 2nd Grade: Room 128
- 3rd – 5th Grade: Room 204 (upstairs in the Ignite room)
September 2026 – Fruits of the Spirits
- Week 1 – We can find PEACE even in troubled times.
- Week 2- We can be PATIENT and trust God’s plan.
- Week 3- We can be KIND to everyone we meet.
- Week 4- We can do GOOD things when we live like God.
- Elementary Memory Verse: But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. -Galatians 5:22-23

We provide a vibrant and child-friendly worship experience where kids can worship in a way that speaks to them.
Kinder – 5th Grade
Children kinder through 5th grade will sit with their families during Sunday worship.
- 9AM Traditional worship – your child will sit with you during the entire service. There is a children’s moment where children are invited to the front for a short 5 minute lesson related to the day’s sermon topic.
- 11AM Contemporary worship – your child will sit with you during worship and then be invited to join Kid’s Church for a biblical teaching and age-appropriate discussion related to the day’s sermon topic. They will rejoin you following the sermon to participate in communion.
Each September, third graders are presented with a personalized Bible just for them during our worship service. There is a special wrapping ceremony for parents prior to the Sunday presentation.
During the school year, our third graders will have a special Bible class just for them as part of the midweek curriculum. This will be an opportunity for the kids to get to know their Bibles and learn how to use them.
VBS is an annual week of daily activities with meaningful Bible stories, fun worship songs, and engaging small group activities which teaches kids how to live out their faith.
Summer 2026 we had an epic journey to discover God’s kingdom in KINGDOM QUEST! So many smiles, songs, games, snacks, and so very many moments of kids learning about Jesus! We had over 150 volunteers with just over 370 children. Our 5th graders also worked on several mission projects including stuffing heart pillows for cancer patients, working with our Threads of Hope ministry to create prayer pocket squares, and packed 2,100 lunches for Lunches of Love. What a blessing!
