The Christmas season is a time of anticipation…of waiting…of longing for the long-awaited coming of Jesus Christ. It is also a season of joy…and hope…and love that comes from the birth of Christ. This Christmas we celebrate and worship our Savior as each Sunday we will be learning more about the roles that Jesus came to fulfill found in Isaiah 9:2, 6-7.
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
Week 1: Wonderful Counselor
At Advent we celebrate the wisdom of God in the person of Jesus. He comes near to us and gives us direction when we feel lost and alone. Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6
Week 2: Mighty God
At Advent, we remember that all things were made by Jesus, for Jesus and to be redeemed through Jesus. It is for this child that all things exist. Scripture: Colossians 1:15-20
Week 3: Everlasting Father
At Advent we welcome the Son into the world, yet the Godhead watches over us as a Father watches over His children. We get to know the heart of the Father through the person of the Son. Scripture: John 10:27-30
Week 4: Prince of Peace
At Advent we celebrate a season of peace. God with Us brings peace to the chaos of our lives. Scripture: John 14:27
All are welcome to our contemporary Christmas service at 6:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. This service will include songs by our praise team along with communion and candlelight. A special children’s gift will be given during the reading of the Christmas story.

Along with our Sunday worship, this year we are offering an Advent devotional book written by members of our own congregation! This book will cover daily devotions to be read Monday through Saturday from Advent through Epiphany. The book is a free resource but a donation to cover the cost of printing and shipping is appreciated if you are able.
