We ARE back in our Worship Center!

Church inside our walls may look a little different but the changes we have made are to ensure that your worship experience will be as safe and sanitized as possible.

And, for those in a higher risk category that prefer to continue worshiping from home, rest assured that our live broadcast will still be available on Facebook, YouTube and our website until you are able to join us in the building.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

  • Our worship times are now 9:00 am (Traditional)  and 11:00 am (Contemporary) in order to provide sanitation of the Worship Center.  Doors will open for seating 20 minutes prior to each service.
  • Reserve nursery care here.   Nursery care is open to children 2 months through 5 years of age.  Children 3 and older must wear a mask while in the building.  Reservations open on Tuesday of each week and close at noon on Fridays.  To view our updated nursery policy, please click here. We ask that if you make a reservation and find you will not be attending that you please contact Robin Mercado to cancel.
  • Everyone 3 and older who enters the church is required to wear a mask while in the building, with the exception of speakers actively presenting to a group that must maintain a distance of 12 feet from others. If this is uncomfortable for you, please continue to join us on-line.  We will have masks available if you need one.
  • Family groups will be seated together, but we are leaving two empty seats between family groups and every-other row of chairs has been removed.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each entrance and exit.
  • We ask that you please maintain a distance of 6 feet from others as you come in and exit the building.
  • Ushers will be directing you to your seats so we can maximize the capacity held in the room – so you may not be seated at the same seat you are accustomed.
  • If you have been exposed to someone confirmed to have Covid19 or have have not been feeling well within the last 2 weeks, we ask that you worship with us online until it is safe to be around others and you are past the exposure period.

stories of faith

Each of us has a story that tells of God’s presence within our daily lives...

but many of us never think that, by telling our stories we may encourage, inspire or enlighten others in their faith-walk.  However, with the efforts and talents of writer and fellow church member, Mark Troth, we hope to shine a light on these stories of faith.

Articles will be posted below, but can also be found in our weekly emails as they are published.

  • FAITHFUL FATHERING

Rick Wertz is a father. I would venture to say that he is an exceptional father, with all the love, strength and passion that most fathers would aspire to match. But almost 25 years ago, at a time in Rick’s life when anyone outside of his immediate family would have seen a successful, driven professional - “a man on the rise”, he experienced an awakening, one that would take him on a path of ministry and influence that touches hundreds of fathers every year in our community and beyond.

I met Rick one evening, a week or so ago in the FUMC foyer, after reaching out to him and asking if I could learn more about his Faithful Fathering initiative. My desire was to write an article, focusing not as much on the mission statement of his organization, but more on his personal inspiration and motivation – in other words, what makes a man walk away from a promising engineering and operational management career with an industry leading oil and gas drilling services conglomerate, to start a faith-based fathering initiative. • HEARTSONG

Gail Armatys joined me for a cup of coffee at Mugz on FM 359 - her venue of choice and I assumed a frequent locale for her work and/or escape. We settled in a comfortable corner nook and then burned a few minutes of my self-regulated one hour interview allotment, just catching up. And yes, I failed again in that timing endeavor.

I have known Gail and her husband, Walter, dating back to 1998 when I coached her son, Logan, on the Yankees with my son, Jason, in Lamar Little League’s Majors division. I remember Logan fondly for many reasons, but mostly for his willingness and ability to take on the catcher’s position as an eleven-year-old, placing his body in harm’s way fielding pitches from two hard throwing, twelve-year-old pitchers who were often challenged by the strike zone.

Gail and Walter’s relationship with God and devotion to their family and each other is ever-present in their daily lives. The subject matter of Gail’s profile is to share a bit of the history that shaped her faith and propelled her professional transition from commercial business ownership, to starting anew as a Certified Life Coach.  Read more...

Hymn of preparation

Where Charity and Love Prevail

This great hymn is loosely translated from the ancient text: Ubi Carita et Amore (Where Charity and Love Are, there Is God). It was written by Saint Paulinus II (726-804) of Aquileia in 792, with its original tune having been composed a century prior. The text is based off 1 John 4:21, simply stated, if you love God, you should love your neighbor. In order to fully love, we must be able to fully forgive others. It is in this forgiveness we are forgiven our sins by God. To be truly charitable, is to forgive and love as Christ loves and forgives us. Christ washed the disciple’s feet as an outward sign of His love, initiating the command: Love your neighbor as yourself. So as an outward sign of our love for Christ and our neighbors, we should always be willing to forgive others.

Staff gift program

A Note from Faith's Staff Parish Relations Committee:

Faith United Methodist Church is blessed to have pastors and staff who continue to faithfully share the hope of Christ in our community.

During this particularly difficult year of chaos and change, our staff has worked diligently to keep the church operating whether the actual building was open or closed. Their dedication to bringing creative expressions of worship, continued discipleship, and a multitude of ways for our community to engage the Gospel has been a beacon of hope in a time of great uncertainty.

Will you prayerfully consider a special donation this season to allow us, as a church, to present a modest Christmas gift to our staff as a supplement to payroll in appreciation for their work?

Christmas Worship & Reservations

This year, Faith will have more opportunities to worship at Christmas with services on both December 23rd and 24th, but, all of our services will have the same elements so that you won't miss out on anything!  There will be a Children's moment in every service with a story, video, children's gift and candle lighting.  Nursery will be available with reservations for children 2 and under.  Make reservations below for the service you'd like to attend and nursery care.

Prayer Requests

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6

Our mission

At Faith United Methodist Church, our desire is to partner with parents in the most important aspect of their children’s lives—that is, their growth and purpose in relationship with Jesus Christ. Through worship, Sunday school, and Bible study, we create fun and meaningful avenues for your children to learn that God created them, God loves them, Jesus wants to be their friend, and God can be trusted to help them make wise choices and treat others with respect. We strive to collaborate with parents during each phase of their children’s lives in sending these important messages home.
